CID, West Bengal has busted several important cases relating to economic offence in the State of West Bengal. MMMASIAGROUP.NET system which had some international connection and they were trying to set up their base in West Bengal, could be nipped in the bud itself. Similarly in the case of Rishta Fisheries 04 (four) accused persons were arrested in a case of duping of Rs. 8 crores approx from the Small Farmers and Fishermen in West Bengal. We are coordinating with the EOW of the State and trying to make it a pilot case for recovery of cheated money and returning it back to the poor people. Similarly, in a case of forgery and misappropriation of hundreds of crores of rupees in National Small Industries Corporation, CID WB has arrested 06 (six) accused persons and could recover Rs. 2.6 crores approx. Four (4) employees of PSU (Govt. of India) have also been arrested in this case. In the case of misappropriation of Railway materials by Jessop, the kingpin Pawan Ruia could be arrested from New Delhi. So far four (4) properties, purchased from the money diverted from the proceeds of misappropriated money, have been sealed and more search on properties are going on. CID, West Bengal has also taken over the investigation of cases of fire and misappropriation of Railway properties in Jessop and cases of theft in Dunlop. The theft in both the Companies have come to complete halt after the arrest of 08 (eight) criminals including 3 Bangladeshi in Jessop and 07 (seven) criminals in Dunlop case.
